Dr Abdul Kamara (A.J.)
I’m Dr Abdul Kamara, known simply as A.J., a local dentist who traded the rush of East London for the calm, elemental beauty of Cornwall and Devon. I began my academic path in Biomedical Science (BSc) at the University of Westminster, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL. But it was at the Peninsula Dental School at the University of Plymouth — while training to become a dentist — that I discovered the lifestyle I truly wanted to build: one that’s deeply connected to the natural world, local community, and personal wellbeing.
After qualifying, I worked across both Cornwall and Devon, with a short return to London — but I quickly realised the city no longer suited me. Since resettling permanently in Cornwall in 2018, I’ve felt rooted in a way that only this coastline and community can offer. And now, with Tewhynn, I’ve found a way to give back and grow even deeper roots.
Tewhynn is not just a premium water brand — it’s a reconnection ritual, inspired by Cornwall’s wild botanicals, local growers, and ancient traditions. Every still, sparkling, and effervescent blend is designed to be both nourishing and tooth-friendly, drawing from my experience as a clinician who understands the impact of sugar-laden drinks on oral health. Tewhynn will never compromise your mouth.
We’re committed to working with local herbalists, foragers, farmers and ethical producers across Cornwall and Devon, creating a brand that truly belongs to the region — and supports it. A portion of our profits will go back into Cornish charities and community initiatives, ensuring we thrive together.
Tewhynn is my way of honouring a slower, more grounded life — one that Cornwall gifted me. It’s a celebration of place, purity, and purpose.
